Road to Santa Fe

(2004-2008)

On just a couple days’ notice in the Winter of 2003, my keystone patron brought me to Santa Fe, encouraging me to find representation there.  I arrived in town with no contacts or appointments and a box of five of my rolled 40x50” color cameraless prints.  After three days I had invitations from 5 galleries for solo exhibitions in the most exciting gallery art scene I had ever witnessed. But that was just the beginning – before the year’s end I was offered a residency at the prestigious Santa Fe Institute that changed my life. In the four years that followed, I made over a dozen overland trips to the Institute, photographing the unmatched lands of the American Southwest as I did.
