Emanations: The Art of the Cameraless Photograph

April 29 through August 14, 2016

Emanations: The Art of the Cameraless Photograph explores the magic of photography in its most primal and elemental form. Featuring more than 200 images made without a camera, it is the first historical survey of cameraless photography to be held anywhere in the world. The Govett-Brewster is a contemporary art museum of the Pacific, located in Ngāmotu New Plymouth, Taranaki, with an international reputation and reach.”

-Geoffrey Batchen, Curator

Eucalyptus polyanthemos was selected from the 200 exhibition artworks as the press image for this prestigious international exhibition, appearing on posters, flags, and as a divider in the book that was subsequently published.

Also included in the exhibition was this image, Cannabis sativa.
