Who Speaks for the Land? Robert Buelteman's Peninsula

On June 29, 2016, the San Mateo County History Museum will open its newest exhibition under its historic central rotunda entitled, Who Speaks for the Land? Robert Buelteman’s Peninsula.

Please join us for the opening reception from 5-7pm on Wednesday, June 29, at the San Mateo County History Museum, 2200 Broadway, Redwood City, California.

Robert Buelteman developed his love of the land as a child growing up in the small town of Woodside. Over the last 40 years, Buelteman’s fine art photographs have received accolades from institutions as diverse as the United States Congress, Commonwealth Club of California, Sierra Club, Committee for Green Foothills and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

In this exhibition, Buelteman has selected 20 of his finest black-and-white works from each of five organizations who commissioned him to make photographs to improve the quality of life here on our beloved Peninsula. They are: Peninsula Open Space Trust, Sempervirens Fund, Djerassi Resident Artists Program, San Mateo County Parks Foundation and Stanford University’s Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve.
