Well, its that time of the year again, when Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza and Festivus (for the rest of us) take over the cultural conversation and we have the time to consider the past year and create the next one.
Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed by the mass consumerism that marks this season, I turn to the wisdom of my 7-year-old son Skyler, who got it right in his “Recipe for Christmas” circa 1996:
