Project Review: Mistral Restaurant

In 1994, my friends Greg St. Claire and master chef Timothy Fabatz opened their new restaurant Mistral in Redwood Shores near the (then) world headquarters of Oracle. Over the following years, their fine cuisine became renowned throughout the region for its Mediterranean flair and exceptional quality. It was my great fortune that the team decided to use black-and-white landscapes from my 1995 book The Unseen Peninsula to create an ambiance celebrating the natural beauty of the San Francisco Peninsula.

The restaurant recently added several of my color cameraless artworks including Bougainvillea, Russian River Oak, and Rebecca’s Geraniums to their private dining room.

This project opened the door to multiple restaurant projects in California over the coming years including The Village Pub in Woodside, The Wine Bar in Princeton-by-the-Sea, The Duck Club in Bodega Bay, and several other restaurants by Greg St. Claire.

For a special evening, pay Mistral a visit for a drink or dinner!
