A hand-made 50x40” silver-gelatin print from the Black Fuse portfolio hanging in a private residence

in Moss Beach California

This image, made from a Japanese Maple branch, remains among our favorites. The donor tree was a gift from dear friends, whose father had a hobby of propagating them. I have made dozens of images of this beautiful subject, but “A Gift Returned” is the only one published. This print lives in the living room of another friend, one with impeccable taste!
